Ethics and Values in the Workplace
Course Description: This interactive training class is designed to explore how ethics and values affect our behavior in the workplace. The intent is to give participants an appreciation for the complex relationship between ethics, values and workplace "norms". Case studies, group discussion and interactive exercises are used to fully engage and involve the participants. Course Objectives: 1. To examine the relationship between ethics, values and attitudes. 2. To learn how our ethics and values impact our interaction with both internal and external customers in the workplace 3. To examine several ethics models, including the utilitarian model, the rights-based model and the justice model. 4. To learn a basic four-step strategy for analyzing and solving ethical dilemmas 5. To learn how to evaluate ethical decisions in the workplace. 6. To examine the value of business codes of ethics. 7. To learn how to minimize or avoid conflict of interest in the workplace.
