Course Description:

When managing conflicts or communicating with "difficult" people, are you a "raven", a "hawk", a "swan" or a "sparrow"? The secret to conflict management is to treat others as individuals and to handle disagreements in a manner that arouses neither resentment nor defensiveness. In this highly-interactive workshop, you will learn how to recognize the communication and behavior styles of yourself and others and use proven strategies for effectively managing disagreements and resolving conflicts.

Course Objectives: 1. To learn how to recognize, evaluate, and utilize the personality & behavior styles of ourselves and others in order to manage conflict and communicate effectively.

2. To examine and understand both effective and ineffective methods of managing conflict in the workplace.

3. To understand the behavior and motives of ten types of "difficult" people.

4. To learn how to effectively interact and manage conflict with each type of "difficult" person.

5. To apply the information acquired during the class to actual situations in the workplace.
